Last December I decided to try my hand a building an eight-string tenor. I had a beautiful set of Cocobolo and a nice set of Western Red Cedar for the top. I also had a set of mandolin tuners so I started the build. Unfortunately, it didn’t get a high priority as I have had several orders this year that took front row. I finally finished it today. It has a Bushman UK2000 pickup system. If you haven’t picked up an 8 string and strummed one, you will be surprised at the full sound that results! (Click of photos for a better look.)
Welcome to my world. This blog is intended to introduce you to my passion for building stringed instruments and update those interested in what I'm up to out here in the land of Corn and Husker Football. I also intend to post articles that I have written for GuitarMaker magazine and show my current works in progress. You are encouraged to participate by commenting or asking questions that I may or may not be able to answer.
